Gastown, Vancouver
The Gastown has a very unique flair and is one of the most popular tourist spots in the city. Located just blocks away from the main shopping areas in the downtown core, Gastown has a great variety of small shops, boutiques, and ethnic restaurants. The infamous steam clock is located in the heart of Gastown, and gathers a great deal of tourist photographers.
A lot of souvenir shops, high end furniture stores, and unique bars are located here. The overall feel is more European than the rest of Vancouver, but the Gastown is a very small area and offers a very limited amount of residential buildings. Festivals, exhibitions, and artistic events are frequent in this area, and attracts a good deal of a walking traffic year round.
